JAPAN STOCKS: Japanese shares are rallying in the final hour, with the Nikkei 225 Index surging 2.62% to 9,289.40 in response to the yen's slide against the dollar.

JAPAN STOCKS: Japanese shares are rallying in the final hour, with the Nikkei 225 Index surging 2.62% to 9,289.40 in response to the yen's slide against the dollar. Automakers and marine transport stocks are leading the advance, with Mazda Motor Corp (7261) soaring 8.97% to Y158, and shipping line Kawasaki Kishen Kaisha Ltd (9107) climbing 7.02% to Y183. Energy and internet stocks are weighing, with oil and gas company Showa Shell Sekiyu KK (5002) falling 1.13% to Y525, while Yahoo Japan Corp (4689) is slipping 3.80% to Y25,040.
